our friend anson yu took some great pictures last night! and who is that holding a guitar? oh my goodness.
minutes before going onstage, trying to shake off an impending anxiety attack using the revenge-patented “dead eyes” maneuver.
he’s the perfect partner in crime — the perfect co-frontman. look at how he stands in a slightly less prominent position, even though he is the main singer for half the songs we played during this set. look at that 110% commitment to the performance. whenever we are on stage, chances are the entire band gets its energy, drive and momentum from him. music is a tangible force with this guy.
his extra 10% chases after my shy half-heard banter, my embarrassed crinkles of my nose, my anxious little yelps of panic into my scarf, my deer in headlights reaction to any sort of attention put on me. because he believes in me, i’ve become a better performer, a better singer, and a better musician overall. truth.
thank you. <3 the impact you’ve made in my life has been huge and phenomenal.
just came home from one of the best gigs i’ve experienced in a while. my legs were killing me and i could barely stand (long story), and we were the fifth of six acts; but i got to cover the stone temple pilots’ “vasoline” with a full band behind me, and for fucking once i could actually hear myself without using an earplug because the monitors were A+!
it was a tight set, too. and i do believe that it was the first time i got to scream on a microphone on stage. god, i love this band.
party like it’s 2004.
good god, i haven’t been back to saguijo in YEARS. coming out to see ebe’s first bar gig was… surreal, but satisfying.
